Fathom Film Group is thrilled to announce that The Loneliest Race has won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Documentary Program.

This recognition is a testament to the extraordinary talent, dedication, and collaboration of the team who brought this ambitious film to life. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to producers Hannah Donegan, Erica Leendertse, and Ann Shin; director Alexander Craig; writer Celine Wong; associate producer Dorcas Ho; editor Steve Taylor, with additional editing by Peter Denes; composer Todor Kobakov; director of photography Stephen Chung; technical director Josh Marr; and the many creatives, crew members, and collaborators whose passion and expertise shaped the project every step of the way.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to CBC Docs and Michelle McCree for championing the film from its earliest stages, and to Gaurav Shinde, whose remarkable journey inspired the project.

Set against the backdrop of one of the world's most demanding sporting events, The Loneliest Race offers an intimate look at the emotional and physical challenges faced by sixteen sailors competing in the Golden Globe Race. The film would not have been possible without the courage, openness, and resilience of these sailors, nor without the support and access provided by the Golden Globe Race organization.

We are honoured to receive this recognition from the Academy and proud to celebrate this achievement alongside the entire team. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making The Loneliest Race possible.

The Loneliest Race is available to stream now on CBC Gem.
